When you want to keep your Beach Sunflower looking its best, a little pruning in late spring or early summer is just the thing. Using a sharp knife or garden shears, gently trim away the damaged or dead stems and any stems that don't look right. Next, cut the plant back to the exact shape you have in mind. Make sure there's plenty of room for air to circulate, and don't forget to remove those spent blooms regularly. That way, you can prevent your plant from going crazy and sending out bunches of flowers all on its own.
